 Almost ten years ago, I rested in south Philly. I had a good partner whom I knew for sometime, who’s lady was   studying for the bar exam at the time.  I remember shorty was cool, sharp, would ask me question’s about N.Y, what I planned to do about my music career etc. She had plans to settle in New jersey with my partner, and operate at a top paying law firm within the tri state.  I told my mans take care of her, she hold you down, and she’s very intelligent.  I respected her for her career pursuit. As the years passed, I worked for my scratch,  builded, and got to checkout some of the city’s law schools on my rounds; a good friend of mine who was a mentor who gave me jewels in my youth is a leading black Attorney.  Years finishing undergrad, working, and developing a multi faceted production label wouldn’t allow me to even consider law. But its a practice, I respect.  Years later in now my  grassroots occupation,  it’s a practice I have a newfound respect for. In the case of Urban America? She a troubled adolescent.  She misunderstood cause she violent, she seen profits in drug distribution, and she’s an abuser.  Her public schools is corrupt, violent from rivalry,  and hold metal detectors at the door.  Her youth flag on the corner move coke, heron and murder. And her young men and women create big business for prisons.  Myself, and others stand in the power of attorney.  The power of attorney says: Urban America is not evil by nature.  Number one, most within federal and state means, want her to stay in foul condition. The greatest of opportunity aint always given to her, and most of her dysfunctions – equal the biggest profits for the state.  The power of attorney says: re set the standard. Re educate, re create opportunity, talk to the people reaching for a better life, and for a better life for the coming generation. This case is not plead before the supreme court. But its shared in the urban habitat, and brought to community leaders. I think I gave enough to rally for her justice…stay alive..sa lute.-

The deepest pockets of west Baltimore have experieced years being impovershed. Streets possesed by the seaport drugtrade: black tops, bluetops, processed opium with high street value. Out of town wars, hot blocks with residents, customers dying slow, the drug trade of Urban America; A synopsis of death, poverty, incareceration and profits that descend into percentages.As a grassroots advocate and co labourer, and in the wake of black history month post 20th century, I wanted to bring the life and times, and contribution of De andre McCollough; the youth who contributed the realities of  his daily in the early nineties to Baltimore writers to depict a war, a race between humanity, drugs, politics,  and inner city culture.  The result was a masterpiece entitled The Corner. It grew into a HBO series, and a landmark in pop culture: The stain, the ever re occurring realities we face coast in urban America.  A novel thick with an account of two dedicated writers, a Baltimore youth infected with the perpetual reign of his environment, and his peers.  I  re present  this testament, knowing all those that know the struggle, and know the tragedy can swear by the truth of  this modern day scripture.  De andre recently passed last year, 2012, toward the latter of the summer. I in my occupation, and my administration wont let the testament sit in vain, but rather let it burn through propaganda, and perpetual inner city destruction.  Baltimore, “charm city” this is your Unsung hero. Honor his life by honoring the future of Baltimore At-risk inner city youth.-

A word of Black History Month.

2013, and the state of Black America.”Nia”. A swahili word, and one principle of Kwanzaa, that means purpose, or building and development, this word was introduced to me via kwanzaa, under grad  study, and among teachers, and scholars. Building on knowledge, coming up under urban struggle, the grind, and transitions of black inner city adolescence, black inner city violence,  among movin’ a hussle to success, or a meeting with fate: “Nia”, purpose, or ” to build” took on a new meaning for me.  Years ago, In the sake of success and survival, i walked with a mind to  ” re build” the hood i lived in, though murder and coke took its toll.  To the present i “build” with my fam back in N.Y for a better Economic and domestic future.   In my occupation  i “Build” with grassroots affiliates to educate, and create social change, for sufferage of Urban America, and coming babies. Bet.  Build is the word, for black history month? true indeed, Because this is one people, one culture, among other races that has taken its losses, here on American soil.   History explains itself, theres so much to say, in matters of the present, theres so much more to do.  Black history month is a time of reflecting; to honor a people and culture, and their plight in the  Americas.  To me, even a  better  time for those peoples, and other ethinicities to build and move ahead in urban America.  From the early 20th century till now, statistics is hard. A percentage locked up , the other gone, the other in conflict. . Recent incidents in America, and heavy propaganda by media, changed issues of gun control.  Those aware, and rallying continue, Re build, because years before these tragedies, black and latino babies, and other were dying, and are dying in middle and lower class urban America. In the words of the late kwame ture,  Consider. -

PLURIBUS: THE CONSCIENCE OF THE DOLLAR.

 

 

The world according to Ari(Zion). The art of simplicity.  Priorities, First things first, including Fam, nothing less than 120% percent.  Seedtime and harvest. Stack and flip. Throw good karma, but handle your business.  That’s just me though, the only man that can walk in his Tims.  But, we know we co exist in a world of the good bad and ugly.  And in this world we know that river that keep business booming,  the rich fed, and the poor starving, that bread, e pluribus onum, the dollar.  Coming up , being the youngest I seen my mom’s pull off raising us single parented, poor, to middle class in a Bronx Apt.  1 hunded to this day I praise her for that. By the time I came of age and made moves, N.Y cost of living hit a 6 to 7 percent increase, if you hussled 700.00 for rent, by 03’ it was pushing more than a grand.  In my years  Living in Philly, building,  finishing school, and working the middle class juggle, I got to “eat” the social Picture ;   My old block,  14 yr olds  to mid twenties Movin’ Coke two for five,  Gunshots Peak hours, welfare  recipients settling cases,   Young Muslims on deem husslin’ Oils, Incense and goods, struggling mothers in hospital scrubs. The inner city:  Restaurant owners handlin’ books, Asian or Arab Vendors, college kids and tycoons, shades away from middle class sweat. As we saw in the HBO series “The Wire”, I got to see the economy’s relationship to everybody, in every class.  In a country where everybody dream for that Mil, You could use this Same picture in Chi town, Delaware, ATL, DC, Baltimore, NY, south, midwest, Cali.  To each his/her own how they get it. In the grand scheme, you gotta stay true to yourself.  I chose over the years of trial and error, bumps and success to move corporate, like minded with the like minded, only, and only wit folk that’s gonna keep it 100 with you. A mutual Financial support system of Entrepreneurs in all fields where all, and all benefit in Due time of profits. Independence Is priceless, I seen a lump where I had To cultivate, and I seen abundance. Either way I hold “conscience” to That dollar..what it mean?  how to get it, and how to flip.   I judge no man how they get it, criminology to blue Collar. But never disallow any means,  that will truly benefit You, and all those worthy.  Sa lute. -
